Celebrating Away from Home

Celebrating birthdays and different family events and feasts is one of the biggest challenges we face when moving to a new place that we call home.

We miss being with the people we love, exchanging gifts, sharing food and taking pictures on those days. The celebrations always feel empty and incomplete without them in the first few years.

In the midst of the challenging time we face we shouldn’t let those feelings replace the glow of our celebration. We should be present here and now as any moment that passes doesn’t come back, it’s only once every year so we should make the most of it no matter where we are. And thanks to the digital revolution that has granted us the opportunity to connect and celebrate online with our loved ones anywhere in the world.

We celebrate the passing of another year filled with challenges, yet we are standing tall. We celebrate our strength and resilience, our health, our ability to laugh and live happily no matter what.

Celebrating away from home is also a reminder for us to start networking, meeting new people and making new memories.

Networking is crucial in any relocation journey. Some people we meet may even become like family and a home away from home.

Building a strong network can help us feel more connected to the new location, creating a new support system and providing feelings of comfort and belonging.

Whether it is through friends, work, community organizations or social events, networking plays a vital role in making a place feels like home.

A few days ago, Maria, the founder of ‘Home Away’ celebrated her birthday with a large circle of friends who have become her chosen family. These friends may not be related by blood, but they hold an unbreakable bond and provide comfort, support and love just like a true family would.

This special occasion marks Maria’s birthday and also the recognition and appreciation of this strong connection and bond created through Home Away From Home.

Happy Birthday Maria:)
